Camping Safari
This safari is not only for those on a limited budget but will appeal to anybody who likes to experience the true sights and odours of Africa not to mention the special atmosphere of nights under canvas when the environment returns to its rightful owners-the wildlife.
Day 1 & 2 Collection from Nairobi Airport (JKIA) where you will be assisted by a representative who will brief you on the safari before departing to the Masai Mara Game Reserve and to the modern Campsite complete with bed sheets, blankets and mosquito nets. All meals are prepared over a traditional wood fire by an excellent chef. Activities to include a full day game drive on the second day. Optional nature walks can be arranged.
Day 3 Drive to Lake Naivasha renowned for its famous birds. A boat trip to Crescent Island is recommended as it is one of the few places in Africa where one can wander on foot among herds of plains game.
Day 4 The following day drive to Lake Bogoria to the hot springs. The highlight of this park is the abundant Flamingos found on this soda lake. Accommodation will be at Lake Baringo where a boat ride can be organised at an extra cost.
Day 5 Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park famous for its Flamingos although there are other types of birds and animals living and feeding there. The park is also a sanctuary for both the white and Black Rhino. Overnight will be at the Sundowner Hotel tucked away in a quite corner of Nakuru Town. The hotel is simple and clean and has rooms with private bathrooms. Morning game drives will be at this famous park.
Day 6 & 7 Drive to Samburu Game Reserve unique for its Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy Zebra, Beisa Oryx, Somali Ostrich and the Gerenuk Antelope. Accommodation will be in a mobile two man tent complete with sleeping mat. Evening and morning game drives will be available.
Day 8 Drive to Mount Kenya where you will take a walking safari to the ‘’Mau Mau’’ Caves used by freedom fighters as the hiding place during the struggle for independence. Birds and Monkeys will be seen during this tour.
Day 9 Return to Nairobi after an exciting day walking on the slope of the Mountain. If time allows take an optional Nairobi excursion or alternatively you may extend to the Indian Ocean Coast of Zanzibar, Mombasa, Malindi or Lamu.
